Welcome to Aquipax, operated by JeanieIQ Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Aquipax application and website.

JeanieIQ Ltd is registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller.

2. The Data We Collect

We collect and process the following types of data to provide the Aquipax service:

• Identity Data: Email address, password (hashed), and optional display name.
• Financial Data: Income, bills, budgets, and spending history that you input or upload. We do not connect to your bank accounts or store banking credentials.
• Health & Wellbeing Data: Steps, weight, sleep logs, mood scores, and water intake that you choose to log.
• Location Data: Approximate or precise location (only when actively using the GPS tracker or Fuel Finder features).
• Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device type, and app interaction data (via Google Analytics).

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly to provide and improve the Aquipax service:

• To calculate your safe-to-spend number and manage your budgets.
• To provide health and wellbeing insights based on the data you log.
• To enable family sharing features (only with users you explicitly invite to your household).
• To process AI features (receipt scanning, statement analysis, meal planning).

4. AI Processing & Third Parties

Aquipax uses artificial intelligence to power specific features. When you use these features, data is processed securely:

• Receipts & Statements: When you scan a receipt or bank statement, the image or text is sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) for extraction. The data is processed ephemerally and is never used to train AI models.
• Meal Planning: Dietary preferences are sent to the Edamam API to generate recipes.
• Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how the app is used. This data is anonymised.

We never sell your personal data to third parties or advertisers.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, hosted on servers within the European Union (EU/Ireland) in compliance with UK GDPR. We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure that your data can only be accessed by you (and your invited household members, where applicable).

6. Family Sharing

If you join an Aquipax Family Plan, certain data is shared with your household members:

• Shared: Shopping lists, family calendar events, and (if granted by the owner) household financial data.
• Strictly Private: Your physical health data, mood journal, sleep tracker, and personal tasks are never shared with other household members.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only for as long as your account is active. You have the right to delete your data at any time:

• You can delete all your data instantly using the "Reset all data" option in the app Settings.
• You can request full account deletion by emailing hello@jeanieiq.com.
• If your account is inactive for 12 months, we may automatically delete your data.
• Payment and subscription records are retained for 7 years to comply with UK tax laws (HMRC).
